Smoking inside the vehicle results in a €50 + 24% VAT fine or as otherwise determined by Autowize, depending on the extent of damage or odor. In cases of extreme dirt (e.g. vomiting, blood, pet accidents, sea water/sand flooding the interior), a special bio-cleaning fee may apply, depending on the extent of the damage and the required treatment.

The Renter is solely responsible for selecting a vehicle suitable for their needs. Vehicle images and models shown on the website or booking platforms are indicative only. Autowize reserves the right to provide a similar or higher vehicle category instead of a specific model, depending on availability.
37. Acceptance of Terms
By signing the contract and accepting the vehicle, or by completing an online reservation and proceeding with payment, the Renter confirms that they have read, understood, and fully accept all Terms & Conditions of Autowize.
38. Off-Road Driving and Natura 2000 Protected Areas
(SUCH AS BALOS LAGOON)
Driving off-road or within Natura 2000 protected areas is strictly prohibited. These areas include environmentally sensitive zones where motor vehicle access is not allowed for any reason.

39.Credit/Debit Card Requirement & Excess Pre-Authorization
For rentals covered under the Basic or Comfort Protection plans, the Renter is required to present a valid credit or debit card issued in their name. Autowize will place a pre-authorization hold on the provided card for the amount
corresponding to the applicable excess. The Renter is responsible for ensuring that the card has sufficient available
funds at the time of vehicle pick-up. The pre-authorization is not a charge but a temporary hold, and it will be released by the issuing bank subject to its own processing times. If the Renter selects the Full Protection plan, the submission of card details and the placing of an excess hold are not mandatory, as no excess amount applies. Autowize reserves the right to decline vehicle delivery without refund if the Renter fails to provide a valid card or if the excess pre-authorization cannot
be successfully completed.
40. Excess Release Processing Time
The release of the excess pre-authorization hold is carried out exclusively between the issuing bank and the payment provider. Once Autowize completes the release request, the company has no control over the processing time required by each bank. Processing times may vary depending on the Renter’s bank policies, international clearing procedures, weekends, or public holidays. Autowize cannot be held liable for any delays related to the excess release, as this procedure is governed solely by the internal timeframe and practices of the financial institutions involved.
41. Acceptance of Pricing, Payment Method & Policy Changes
By completing an online reservation, the Renter explicitly agrees to the pricing, payment method, and discount structure selected during the booking process, as displayed on the Autowize website or booking platform. The final rental price, including any discounts applicable to the chosen payment option, is considered fully accepted and contractually binding once the reservation is confirmed. Autowize reserves the right to modify, update, or revise its pricing, discount structure, and payment policies at any time and without prior notice. Such changes do not affect confirmed reservations, which remain subject to the terms, pricing, and payment conditions accepted by the Renter at the time of booking. Autowize is not responsible for any bank fees, exchange rate differences, or other charges applied by the Renter’s bank or card issuer.
42. Exclusion of Liability

Any vehicle replacement, assistance, or support provided by Autowize shall be considered a goodwill gesture only and shall not constitute acceptance of liability or an obligation to compensate the Renter in any manner.
By accepting this Agreement, the Renter explicitly waives any right to claim damages, compensation, or financial restitution against Autowize beyond the contractual rental service itself.
43. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a competent court or authority, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid one that comes as close as possible to the economic and legal purpose of the original provision.
44. Entire Agreement & Amendments
This Agreement, together with the confirmed reservation and the pricing conditions accepted at the time of booking, constitutes the entire agreement between Autowize and the Renter and supersedes any prior verbal or written arrangements. Any amendment or modification to this Agreement shall be valid only if made in writing and explicitly accepted by Autowize.
45. Cancellation, No-Show & Modification Policy
Cancellation, no-show, and reservation modification rules (including any applicable fees or loss of prepayment) are governed by Autowize’s Cancellation & Reservation Policy, as published on the Autowize website and/or booking platform at the time of reservation. By completing a reservation, the Renter confirms acceptance of these policies.
46. Good Faith & Abuse of Rights
The Renter agrees to act at all times in good faith and in accordance with the purpose of this Agreement.
Any abusive, fraudulent, misleading, or bad-faith behavior, including attempts to exploit contractual terms, insurance coverages, or legal rights in an improper manner, shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement and shall immediately void all insurance, protections, and contractual benefits.
47. Evidence, Proof & Discretion
Autowize reserves the unrestricted right to rely on any form of evidence to determine misuse, off-road driving, breach of contract, or improper vehicle use. Such evidence may include, without limitation: GPS data, telematics, vehicle diagnostics, photographs, videos, witness statements, workshop reports, recovery reports, third-party confirmations, or any other technical or factual data. The Renter expressly accepts Autowize’s discretion in assessing such
evidence and waives any objection regarding the method or source of proof.
48. Third-Party Vehicle Providers – Agency Disclaimer
In certain cases, Autowize operates solely as an intermediary and/or booking agent for vehicle rentals provided by third-party car rental companies (“Third-Party Providers”). In such cases, Autowize does not act as the contractual vehicle owner or lessor.
The renter expressly acknowledges and agrees that when a vehicle is supplied by a Third-Party Provider, the rental shall be governed by the terms and conditions, insurance policies, fuel policies, deposit requirements, liability limitations, and operational rules of the respective Third-Party Provider. Such terms shall prevail over and supersede the general terms and conditions of Autowize.
Autowize bears no responsibility or liability for any differences, discrepancies, losses, damages, claims, additional charges, insurance coverage limitations, security deposits, or obligations arising from the terms imposed by the Third-Party Provider.
The final rental agreement shall be concluded directly between the renter and the Third-Party Provider, and the renter agrees to sign and comply with the rental contract presented at the time of vehicle delivery.
By completing a booking with Autowize, the renter irrevocably accepts that the vehicle may be supplied by a Third-Party Provider and waives any claim against Autowize arising from the application of the Third-Party Provider’s terms.
Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall Autowize be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or financial damages resulting from the rental of a vehicle supplied by a Third-Party Provider, including but not limited to disputes related to insurance coverage, excess amounts, fuel policy, vehicle condition, delays, cancellations, or additional charges imposed by the Third-Party Provider.
49. Public Feedback & Statements
The Renter retains the right to express personal opinions or subjective experiences regarding the rental service, provided that such statements are made in good faith and are based on truthful and accurate facts.
The publication or dissemination of false, misleading, fabricated, or unsubstantiated statements of fact, whether online or offline, including but not limited to reviews on digital platforms, social media, forums, or Google Reviews, which present allegations as factual without objective evidence, may constitute defamation and unlawful interference with Autowize’s business activity under applicable Greek and European law.
In cases where the Renter knowingly, intentionally, or with gross negligence publishes false factual claims or misleading representations that cause reputational harm, financial loss, or loss of income to Autowize, the company expressly reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies. Such remedies may include civil claims for defamation, claims for compensation for proven damages and loss of income, as well as requests for injunctive relief and removal of the offending content from the relevant platform.
This provision does not limit or restrict the Renter’s lawful right to express honest opinions or personal dissatisfaction. It applies exclusively to demonstrably false, misleading, or malicious statements presented as facts and lacking factual basis or supporting evidence.
50. Reservation Cancellation by Autowize (Operational Reasons)
Autowize reserves the right to cancel a confirmed reservation prior to vehicle delivery in cases of force majeure, vehicle unavailability, accident, damage, theft, mechanical failure, safety concerns, or any other circumstances beyond Autowize’s reasonable control that affect the availability, safety, or operability of the vehicle.
Autowize further reserves the right to cancel a reservation where fulfilling the booking would result in disproportionate operational hardship or is no longer commercially or operationally feasible, including but not limited to fleet limitations, overlapping or extended prior rentals, unforeseen allocation requirements, or changes in vehicle availability.
In such cases, Autowize’s sole and exclusive obligation shall be the full refund of any amount paid in advance by the Renter for the canceled reservation. No further compensation, reimbursement, or indemnification of any kind shall be
due.
Autowize shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages, losses, or expenses arising from such cancellation, including but not limited to alternative transportation costs, accommodation expenses, missed flights or connections, loss of time, loss of enjoyment, or any consequential or financial damages.
The Renter expressly acknowledges and agrees that vehicle availability cannot be guaranteed until the moment of vehicle delivery and that reservation confirmation does not constitute an unconditional obligation to supply a specific vehicle model, category, or rental duration.
51. Final, Irrevocable and Binding Acceptance – Language Responsibility Disclaimer
By completing an online or on-site reservation, making any payment, signing any rental document, receiving, possessing, or using the vehicle in any manner whatsoever, the Renter expressly, irrevocably, and unconditionally confirms acceptance of all Terms & Conditions of this Agreement.
The Renter expressly acknowledges and agrees that the Terms & Conditions are provided in the English language and that it is the Renter’s sole responsibility to ensure full understanding thereof. Any lack of comprehension due to language proficiency, translation, or personal interpretation shall not affect the validity, enforceability, or binding nature of
this Agreement.
Acceptance shall be deemed final, valid, and legally binding in all cases, regardless of whether the Renter has signed a physical contract, and shall apply equally to rentals provided directly by Autowize or by any Third-Party Vehicle Provider.
The Renter expressly waives any claim, objection, or dispute against Autowize arising from alleged language barriers, misunderstandings, or failure to comprehend the Terms & Conditions.
